A healthy weight calculator will help determine if your weight is appropriate for your height. Determining a healthy weight can help an individual come to a decision about whether or not the need to diet. Healthy weight calculators include the body stats of age, height, weight, and gender. It is important to remember that muscle weighs more than fat. If you are a few pounds overweight this may not necessarily be a concern. Personal preference and opinion as well as a physician’s input should weigh heavily on how you decide to tackle any weight concerns.

 Healthy weight calculations can be used to determine a generalized healthy weight. There is no single formula that can take into consideration items including muscle mass, fitness level, weight gain in growing children, weight gain during pregnancy, and weight of athletes with high amounts of lean muscle mass.

  • Obese-Obesity is a very serious health problem. It can shorten lift expectancy and left to infertility, depression, heart disease, and stroke. Obesity can make day-to-day activities much more difficult.
  • Overweight- You are likely to be at risk for many obesity-related conditions. These conditions include diabetes, heart disease, stroke, osteoarthritis, certain cancers, and high blood pressure.
  • Normal weight- Keep up the good work. Maintain a healthy diet and exercise program for a happy, healthy lifestyle.
  • Underweight- Being underweight means you are likely to develop infections more easily, are at risk for anemia, osteoporosis, and other conditions. Low body weight also means may lead to absence of menstruation and infertility.
